Béatrice Romagnolo (head of the team « Intestinal self-renewal and tumorigenesis ») has been awarded by GEFLUC: "Les Entreprises Contre le Cancer"

Congratulations to Béatrice Romagnolo (head of the team « Intestinal self-renewal and tumorigenesis ») who has just been awarded by GEFLUC: "Les Entreprises Contre le Cancer"

Research carried out in recent years has made it possible to identify dietary factors that may be involved in the development of some cancers. Conversely, some diets may optimize the effect of cancer treatment. In particular, calorie restriction, known for its effect on longevity, could also be an ally of chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatments to limit intestinal toxicity. Indeed, calorie restriction appears to be an effective method for rapidly regenerating intestinal tissues. The awarded project aims to identify diets that mimic calorie restriction, in order to be better tolerated by patients, and to test the effectiveness of these diets on the regeneration of the intestinal epithelium during radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
