    Résumé

    Blood vessel derived signals have been identified to trigger development and growth of multiple different organs. However, these so-called angiocrine signals must be accurately regulated, as to prevent organ overgrowth. The regulatory mechanisms have been largely unknown until recently. In the presentation, Dr. Lammert will introduce biomechanical forces acting on blood vessels to turn on growth promoting angiocrine signals for liver growth and suvival. He will also explain how integrin-mediated mechanosignaling activates endothelial cells in vitro and in vivo.
