    Liu lab investigates some of the fundamental questions of class C GPCRs: What is the dynamic relationship between their structure and function, how the signals are transmitted from the membrane protein to the downstream effectors, and what is the final physiological and pharmacological role? He also studied how the important membrane proteins in sensory system modulate aging, longevity and metabolism.

    Dr. Liu joined the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) since 2002 with a full professor appointment in the College of Life Sciences and Technology. Currently, Dr. Liu is the Deputy Dean of the College of Life Sciences and Technology. He also serves as the Deputy Director in the Key Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics, the Ministry of Education. Dr. Liu has received the “Chang Jiang Scholars” award from the Ministry of Education. He also received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Currently, Dr. Liu is the Editorial Board Member for the journal “Biophysics Reports”.
