    Vassili Soumelis was trained as a medical doctor in clinical hematology and received his PhD in immunology. He is a team leader within the INSERM U932 "Immunity and cancer" unit, at the Institut Curie of Paris. He is an expert in immunology, cytokine biology, immuno-oncology, systems and computational biology, as well as immune and inflammatory networks. In the past 10 years, he has been developing an interface between immunology, systems and computational biology in order to unravel the complexity of signal integration by immune cells, intercellular communication networks, and the diversity of immune cell subsets and activation states. In his research activity, he has worked across medical disciplines, and contributed or led studies in HIV infection, cancer, allergy, tissue fibrosis and auto-immunity.
