School visits on Friday 14 October
In the morning, 30 secondary school students came to "play debate" on the theme of artificial intelligence and health, with the Arbre des Connaissances association. At the end of the game, they discussed their careers with a researcher and an engineer.
In the afternoon, a class of high school students in 1st year SVT speciality discovered our laboratories and were able to carry out experiments. All these young people were introduced to the scientific approach and critical thinking that are essential to the production of knowledge.
Open to the general public on Saturday 15 October
The "Chasse aux protéines" workshop provided an opportunity for the whole family to solve riddles (left).
Around the posters on the "Du lit à la paillasse" stand: our research colleague discusses bacteria, even with the very young (right).
Participants in the "peindre avec des bactéries" workshop created works that required the bacteria to actively multiply in order to become visible and in a variety of colours.

On the "des gamètes à la naissance : la reproduction sous microscope" workshop: the screen connected to the microscope helps guide observers.
Younger children can already make observations under the microscope during the "le fer est notre affaire" workshop.
Finally, portraits of the seeds of researchers who took part in the treasure hunt.
We have also talked to you about how our researchers are also "seeking" to reduce the impact of their scientific activities on the environment.
Unusual visits organised by the CNRS
A visit to the IMAG'IC core facility where, after explanations from our engineer colleague, everyone was able to see cells labelled with fluorescent molecules under the microscope.
They then made mini-microscopes (foldscopes) that can be adapted to mobile phones, so that they can continue to make observations at home.
